Write a creative brief

Before choosing tags, decide what the song is for. Is it a personal story, a late-night instrumental, or the beginning of a track you will develop in a DAW? Write one sentence that describes the emotional moment and the musical setting.

Choose a small set of anchors: a genre, an energy level, and one or two instruments. Keep your first brief narrow enough that you can tell whether a generation follows it. You can explore surprising combinations later.

For example: “A restrained soul song about starting again, led by a warm rhythm section and an expressive vocal.” That sentence gives you something to evaluate without trying to control every note.
